Solar Power

SOLAR POWER

Solar power is energy from the sun that is converted into thermal or electrical energy. Solar energy is the cleanest and most abundant renewable energy source available, and the African Continent has some of the richest solar resources in the world. Solar technologies can harness this energy for a variety of uses, including generating electricity, providing light or a comfortable interior environment, and heating water for domestic, commercial, or industrial use.

1. Solar Technologies

There are three main ways to harness solar energy: photovoltaics, solar heating & cooling and concentrated solar power. Photovoltaics generate electricity directly from sunlight via an electronic process and can be used to power anything from small electronics such as calculators and road signs up to homes and large commercial businesses. Solar heating & cooling (SHC) and concentrating solar power (CSP) applications both use the heat generated by the sun to provide space or water heating in the case of SHC systems, or to run traditional electricity-generating turbines in the case of CSP power plants.

2. Product Portfolio

Our product portfolio include all Solar Technologies , all-in-one hybrid inverters, battery inverters and lithium battery solutions. Inverters range from 5 kW up to 1MW, covering both residential, commercial and utility application scenarios.

3. Grid-tied PV Systems

A grid-tied PV System consists of Solar Panels and an Inverter. All Electricity produced has to be consumed in your house during daylight hours, as no Batteries are incorporated.

Most Municipalities ( in South Africa ) accept your excess Electricity Production and redistribute it in their grid. You will receive a credit on your Electricity Bill for every kWh you feed back into the grid.

These Systems require the Municipal / National Grid to function and can’t operate standalone.

The launch of our  EQA Powerwall Unit enable everybody to retro-fit a Battery to their Grid-tied PV System at any point in time.

4. Residential Solar Battery Systems

A Residential Solar Battery System enables you to operate independently from the grid for at least 6 to 8 months of the year. It consists of Solar Panels, an Inverter and a Lithium Battery.

It will supply your Home with Solar Electricity during daylight hours and recharge your Lithium Battery for night-time, as well as Load-shedding and Power Failures.

In case of a Power Failure or Load-Shedding, the Solar Battery System will seamlessly change over and supply your house with Electricity.

5. Off-grid Residential Systems

You can be completely self-sufficient with your Residential Solar System and not rely on any Municipal / National Grid Supply anymore.
To achieve this you need to use more Solar Panels and a bigger Lithium Battery to account for high Electricity Usage during a rainy period in Winter.

6. Taylor Made Solutions

Whilst we specialize and focus on large commercial and industrial innovative solar energy solutions our highly qualified electricians can also design , install and maintain smaller residential systems.

7. Commercial Solar Systems

Simply put, commercial or industrial solar systems are the same as residential solar systems except for the fact that they have a higher requirement of power and therefore require more solar panel and storage capacity. Commercial solar systems are aimed at

  • the industrial sector,
  • factory plants,
  • warehouses and
  • agricultural sector, eg. irrigation
  • municipalities, eg. street lighting
